Customer Background
The Customer wanted to develop a test lab for a large virtual network function (VNF) vendor to showcase their functionality with VMware’s NFV platform.
Challenges
In order to keep costs in control, the entire deployment was done remotely. The challenges were very typical of any remote activity (connectivity at site, time-zone difference impacting resource availability at site etc.)
Our Solution
VaporVM scoped out the infrastructure, based on the VNF’s that Nokia wanted to test, each VNF had a specific resource requirement (compute, memory and storage). Furthermore, the infrastructure was designed to withstand the stress of the test load.
VaporVM developed HLD/LLD to serve as blueprints for
further deployments and deployed VMware’s NFV 2.0
Once deployed, VaporVM assisted Nokia in testing and reporting on the successful testing of the VNFs.
Results
Using VaporVM’s test lab, Nokia was able to demonstrate the high-functionality of their VNF’s to participate in an RFP for one of Tunisia’s largest telcos. VaporVM’s test lab ensured that Nokia was able to qualify for such RFPs in the future.
